"I can’t say enough about my wonderful experience and my sensational results (with no side effects!)."

It’s been 10 years since I had proton therapy at Loma Linda University Cancer Center (LLUCC), and my PSA is 0.2.  I’m 81 and live in Palm Springs, CA. Each time my wife and I pass Loma Linda on our way to LA, we both say, “Thank you, Loma Linda!”

“Men diagnosed with prostate cancer can believe what they read about proton therapy. All of these testimonials on the BOB website are 100% true, written by the patients themselves.”

"If you have not yet made your treatment decision as you read this, be sure to talk to as many guys as possiblenot just those who selected proton therapy, but also those who selected other treatments. Above all else, make sure your treatment choice is your choice. You are the one who must live with the decision."

There was some guilt involved in explaining to our family what a delightful time we had in Loma Linda. It was a vacation in disguise.

"The bad news is, you have prostate cancer and surgery is not an option because it is too advanced," my doctor told me. "The good news is that we can control it somewhat with hormone therapy."

"As a practicing physician, my colleagues were unfamiliar with proton therapy and strongly urged me to have 'traditional' therapy. However, when I researched my options, it was obvious that the best choice for me was proton therapy."

"My experience at LLUCC was great. Side effects from [proton] treatment were, in fact, minimal, and all the other patients I spoke to, who came to Loma Linda from all over the world, had similar experiences."

I had 45 proton sessions in 9 weeks (including hormones due to my Gleason 9 prostate cancer). During my entire treatment, I felt perfectly fine and energetic. I had NO side effects.
